Mount Comfort – “Night Bloom”

//

“Night Bloom” is a consuming, twangy charmer from Mount Comfort, a project out of Fayetteville, AR. Subdued vocals and guitar twangs drive to a playful synth bounce past the first-minute mark, right as the vocals show more exuberance. Aesthetically, I’m reminded of artists like Chinese Cherry and Jerry Paper — a hypnotic sound with a nocturnal tint, synths and guitars intermingling lushly with the vocals. The track’s final minute sees bursting guitars and a lovely saxophone addition, lending a seductive ending to a very satiating track.

“Night Bloom” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
