Mighty Tim Young – “Rock n Roll”

Mighty Tim Young impresses with a timeless rock sound throughout his new album The Lucky Ones. Opening track “Rock n Roll” offers up poignant lyrics to start: “In the beginning there was the noise.” Past the 30-second mark, Young expands with a suave fervor, rejoicing: “Rock & Roll runs like a rhythm to the sea / Rock & Roll is anything it wants to be.” The rhythmic addition and bluesy guitar touch plays with a sweltering satisfaction, with the chorus exuding a chugging charm rounding the two-minute mark. “Rock n Roll” plays like a fun-loving ode to the genre’s existence, the charismatic vocals and roaring guitars consuming throughout.

The Lucky Ones represents Young’s fifth release on his Not Fade Away label.
