HEELE – “Still Intact”

“Still Intact” is a stylish new track from HEELE, the project of Connecticut-based artist Michael Henss. The creeping vocal presence joins with a steady rhythm section for an inviting introduction. Guitar fragments emerge thereafter in building to the chorus. “The screen is turning black, and now I’m on my own,” Henss sings here, meshing dark-rock theatrics that eventually rise with vigor as the three-minute mark approaches. The second half, in general, ushers in a heavier rocking sound that develops cohesively from the first half’s patient build, complete with ’80s nostalgia and rock-based charm. “Still Intact” is a solid entry from HEELE.

“Still Intact” and other memorable tracks from June can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2021’ Spotify playlist.
