Max Koste – “Lonely Human (so everybody cries)”

Swedish singer/songwriter Max Koste delivers a twangy, laid-back charm on “Lonely Human (so everybody cries).” Reminiscent of Mac DeMarco, Koste’s suave vocals escalate into an emotive vocal burst, the “so lonely,” lyric pairing with more expressive guitars. A playful synth tone adds nicely to jangly guitars in a bridge rounding the two-minute minute. “Lonely Human (so everybody cries)” is an engaging success from Koste, whose songwriting manages a catchy playfulness even within lonesome yearnings.

Koste writes the following about the release:

“This is the first song that I created entirely on my own in my bedroom. It’s a slow and chill song about loneliness that is performed with a hopeful and goofy tone. The instrumentals are fun and playful contrasted with more cynical lyrics about loneliness and repeating past mistakes.”

“Lonely Human (so everybody cries)” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2021’ Spotify playlist.
