Impressing last month with track “The Cradle,” Blake Red touts a similarly consuming rock-forward fervor on “The Darkness,” whose new music video (above) recently released. Also via The Cradle EP, “The Darkness” features Nona Hendryx, formerly of singing trio Labelle. Sludgy guitars and expressive vocals swell around the “covered in the darkness,” chorus, complemented enjoyably by Hendryx. The “you’re nothing but a whisper,” bridge develops into a percussive-heavy energy that closes the track in satiating form. Mark this one as another success from The Cradle EP, streaming below:
