Iceblink – “Seared”

/

A recent track from Brooklyn-based band Iceblink, “Seared” recalls a fondness for English alt-rock of the ’80s. The bustling bass line conjures a post-punk feeling, interlaced with serene vocals and nostalgic guitar pulses; the result recalls names like The Stone Roses, The Sundays, and Lush. The “asked me to explain,” chorus exults with playful guitar tones amidst the layered backing distortion. The dreamy, laid-back verses with a hopping bass charm tread seamlessly into this escalation, consuming with added fervor. Iceblink’s “Seared” easily captivates.

“Seared” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2021’ Spotify playlist.
