CAIRNS – “Autophagy”

Playing a soulful approach to downtempo electronic pop, “Autophagy” is a consuming track from Minnesota-based artist CAIRNS. The lush bass line and stutter-y synth energy contrast enjoyably, the vocals seamlessly shifting between pop-forward charisma and intimate yearning. In the latter’s case, an elegant ballad-forward section flows with an emotive pull, leading into the electro-laden bounce rounding the two-minute mark. “Autophagy” boasts immediate appeal with its sensual, atmospheric pop presentation.

“Autophagy” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2021’ Spotify playlist.
