Retro Kid – “The Room”

/

“The Room” is a memorable new track from Copenhagen-based artist Retro Kid, from their upcoming album Who do you want to be, L.A.Byrne?. The introduction steadily unveils; piano glistening and steady percussion are joined by hypnotic vocal effects, the production fondly reminiscent of Caribou, while the subdued vocals and pulsing synths remind of Hot Chip. A wavering synth pad and added piano touch, following the “I fell back into the room,” lyric, inject added fervor into the ensuing verses. The final minute unveils a darker soundscape, the artistic implementation of piano and creaky vocal effects converging with delightful melodic results. Retro Kid’s “The Room” is an inventive track with standout songwriting and production.

“The Room” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2021’ Soundcloud playlist.
