Brama Sukarma – “Make a Leap”

Brooklyn-based artist Brama Sukarma struts a climactic ’80s-inspired flair throughout new track “Make a Leap.” A nostalgic drum fill signals the chorus’ entry, where brassy suaveness and additional vocals impress. More melodic vocal outpourings interact with spoken-word tones, the clap-laden fade into lush synths entrancing around the mid-point. The various vocal layers, ’80s-friendly percussive ardency, and meshing of guitars/synths makes for a consuming second half; “Make a Leap” captivates with its convincing aesthetic and melodic pull.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2022’ Spotify playlist.
