Chris Jobe – “Nostalgia”

Los Angeles-based artist Chris Jobe impresses with a contagious pop sound throughout “Nostalgia.” Suave vocals show a yearning for nostalgia and running away “with you,” alongside peppy guitars and a playful rhythmic pulsing. A scaled-back bridge, initially guided by just guitars and vocals, is gradually bolstered by a catchy bass line into the hooky “I made a mistake,” line. The “I would run away,” refrain also plays infectiously throughout. “Nostalgia” is shining indication of Jobe’s smart pop songwriting and polished production.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2022’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
