An instrumental rock EP highlighted by expressive guitar tones, lush string-laden adornments, and captivating songwriting, Unauthorized Passenger comes via Israeli artist Esc, the alias of artist Danny Manor. Alongside co-producer Francois Paul Aiche, Manor crafts an exciting guitar rock sound throughout. The sound is eclectic and passionate, inspired by the likes of Steve Vari and Extreme, in addition to composers like Danny Elfman, Thomas Newman, and John Williams. “Our music combines both worlds – putting the guitar as the main character, surrounded by orchestral themes with a solid rhythm section,” Esc explain.

“Trapped in a Dragon’s Dream” is among the EP’s highlights. Tender guitars exude a hypnotic allure amidst patient rhythms, steadily expanding into a serenely symphonic backing that glistens with cinematic appeal. Intense strings and scorching guitar tones lead a satiating beginning, in a prog-rock and psych-friendly vein. Stream “Trapped in a Dragon’s Dream” and the other EP tracks in full, below:
