Blind Season – “Wine & Hair Dye”

/

“Wine & Hair Dye” is an emotive rocker from Blind Season, the Detroit-based duo of vocalist/guitarist Shane Sigro and bassist Mike Paraski. “Give me a reason to stay here,” Sigro sings throughout, both during the grungy initial verses and later in highlighting a brightly anthemic climax. The refrain compels each time, bolstered by initially understated yearning and later rock-forward expansion alike, conjuring ample ’90s alt-rock nostalgia by its enjoyable culmination.

The percussive fervency and guitar-based escalation approaching the one-minute mark enthralls, with the ensuing vocals building to a shimmering conclusion, the “reason to stay here,” hook playing with a refreshing enticement each time. “Wine & Hair Dye” is a hooky, bursting rock success from Blind Season.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2022’ Spotify playlist.
