The twinkling keys and acoustical strums in the introduction brings a climactic appeal, as lyrics regale about driving through town. The peppy, pulsing character thereafter plays infectiously, the vocals beckoning “let’s go.” “Powerlines” is a melodic success with power-pop and surfy allure, an ideal fit for kicking off a road trip or otherwise sun-filled adventure.
