Elizabete Balcus – “Hotel Universe”

A striking new track from Latvian artist Elizabete Balcus, “Hotel Universe” comes from the upcoming album of the same name. Following percussive pitter-patter and nocturnal synth tones, the emergence of haunting vocals and mystical woodwinds frolic with hypnotic intent, fully immersing.

Balcus’ vocals range from wordless, soaring operatic qualities to sharp-cutting synth-pop yearning. An especially spine-chilling vocal progression, past the two-minute turn, swells into hypnotic bass and escalating woodwinds for a cinematic, invigorating pull. “Hotel Universe” is an unforgettable, inventive success from Elizabete Balcus, full of savvy stylistic mystique and ghostly haunts.

The upcoming album will be released on September 16th, through Canadian label Mothland.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2022’ Spotify playlist.
