Presenting a laid-back and emotive rock sound, “He Walked You Home” is a recent track from Jones Carwash. The band is based out of Berkeley, CA and Montreal, Canada. They embrace a hypnotic and no-frills sound here, recorded with live instrumentation in the basement of Robby Pedersen’s parents house. Pederson is songwriter, producer, and engineer, and successfully aims here for a production that emulates the feeling of a live performance.

The nocturnal lyrical disposition and gentle guitar tones cast a tranquil spell over “He Walked You Home.” The suave guitar stylings remind fondly of King Krule. “Oh, what a night,” the vocals let out. “Oh, I trust you, but how could I know if you lied?” is asked with greater clarity amidst a lush acoustical addition. Dreamy and consuming, “He Walked You Home” compels with its serenely yearning qualities.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2022’ Spotify playlist.
