The newly released “Your Heart Is A Stranger’s House” is the debut single from Last Motion Picture, the project of Yorkshire-based artist Andy James. He describes this debut as “a song about losing a familiar part of someone as they change and gradually become a stranger.” He also adds: “The single was inspired by personal experiences of loss and life change, as well as nostalgic sounds from 80s artists such as The Cure and Kate Bush.”

A melodic and sharply produced success, “Your Heart Is A Stranger’s House” struts an anthemic and shimmering allure. The suave vocals, gyrating bass, and and chiming guitars craft ample momentum in the opening verses. Crisply resonating guitars and soaring vocal passion excel in the hooky chorus; the rise from suave to bright effervescence reminds fondly of The Cure and The Psychedelic Furs, with its ’80s nostalgia.

The project is currently prepping an upcoming record alongside producers Andy Hawkins (Pigeon Detectives) and Dom Bennison (Medicine Room Studios). If “Your Heart Is A Stranger’s House” is any indication, it’s certainly something to look out for.
