Lille mads – “Top Dollar”

A moody track from Swedish act Lille mads infusing post-punk and alt-rock, “Top Dollar” captivates with its haunting atmospherics.

Blaringly dark guitar tones envelop following a murky flickering, escalating with effortless appeal. This extended guitar-fronted introduction does well in crafting a compelling soundscape, cohesively ushering in the brooding vocals and prickly synth effects that follow. The post-punk rhythms, clanging guitar hypnotics, and wintry synth pulses make for striking production throughout, cementing Lille mads as an act to look out for.

Per the band, the track was “produced and recorded partially in the cleansing room of an old sausage factory in Malmö.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2022’ Spotify playlist.
