“Get the Picture” is a passionate single from Reticent Alien, via the upcoming debut album Glass House Wilderness. The South Carolina-based project of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Justin Wiles combines elements of rock, psychedelia, Americana, and noise rock for a sound heavy on emotion and melody.
The track’s acoustical frolicking and suave vocals remind fondly of Aztec Camera. The vocals escalate past the two-minute turn with wonderful vigor, complemented by shimmering, charismatic guitar work thereafter. A second half, with an amped-up psych-friendly glow, fully stands out as well. “Get the Picture” has me firmly anticipating the release of Glass House Wilderness next month.
