Real Pleasure – “Was It Love?” (ft. Dorota Szuta)

//

Featuring the suavely gripping vocals of Dorota Szuta (from Heavy Gus), “Was It Love?” is a new single from Real Pleasure, the Los Angeles-based project of writer/producer Kevin Claxton (formerly Vaya, Chicago Singles Club). Initial lyrical references to a “dream late last night,” fit aptly amidst the atmospheric production, with the dreamy guitar whimpers and funk-tinged rhythm section exuding a late-night appeal.

The slight, funky guitar movements build to the invigorating “grey skies,” vocal outpouring. The verses’ soulful, patient approach builds cohesively to this ascent, with the final minute blissfully taken over by this impassioned rise. “Was It Love?” is a thorough success from Dorota Szuta and Real Pleasure.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
