Void Comp – “Like Flowers”

//

“Like Flowers” is the new single from Void Comp, the project from Canadian multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter David Jule, who describes the effort as “about feeling insecure in a romantic relationship.”

Consuming with a late-night sound touting alt-rock guitars and wistful synth-laden soundscapes, “Like Flowers” enamors with its hazy guitars, crisp acoustic drums, and eerie lead synths. Lyrics poignantly echo the pain of unrequited love and the need to move on, reflecting flowers blooming as sun comes through, as well as an acknowledgment to “change direction,” in the pursuit of a more fulfilling pursuit.

The project impressed last year as well with the track “Come My Way.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.
