Alvin Joseph – “Rapunzel”

“Rapunzel” is a recent track from Alvin Joseph, exuding a positive spirit amidst its jangly alt-rock sound. “This is one of the first positive songs I wrote because I want to remind people there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel,” Alvin says.

Escalated jangly guitars and greater vocal outpouring compel throughout the second half, especially as the vocals launch into a fervent passion within the satiating conclusion. The track’s development from jangly understated charm into rousing rock thrills is fully satiating. A self-taught guitarist, Alvin Joseph’s melding of influences (like Green Day, Boy Pablo, and My Chemical Romance) and building vocal emotion makes for a memorable listening experience.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2023’ Spotify playlist.
