Plane Color – “Visions of You”

San Antonio brings us the delectably murky psych-rock project Plane Color, whose twangy guitars and submerged vocals make for an entrancing sound. “Visions of You” is a track that comfortably glides with a chilled-out glow, with lush vocals and perky guitar twangs leading alongside intermittent glistening reflections and subtle percussion.

An elongated vocal at the one-minute turn signals a satiating escalation, embracing a more dynamic tonal structure thereafter and into a riveting conclusion that showcases both guitar-laden enthusiasm and twinkling keys alike. “Visions of You” is a stellar showing from Plane Color.

The track was mixed by Jason Kick, who recorded Mild High Club’s album Skiptracing.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2023’ Spotify playlist.
