Oh Yeah Tiger – “Unconditional Love”

//

A triumph from Oslo-based project Oh Yeah Tiger, “Unconditional Love” is a riveting rocker with ample climactic pull. The initially mellow guitar tones gradually intensify into a more dynamic and passionate melodic turn, showcasing versatile tonal pitches and dexterous playing. “It could happen to you and me,” the vocals admit prior to stomping guitars, with this delightful expansion exuding a sort of prog-rock allure in the concise tones and growing vigor.

Another striking section is the “call your best friend,” vocal sequence, where the resonating guitars and synth dashes drive alongside the fervent vocal presence, erupting into another hooky guitar sequence. This final minute+ rouses with its powerful vocal theatrics and intriguing tonal deliveries, ranging from a scratchy guitar feeling to the psych-pop synth punches. “Unconditional Love” is the whole package.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
