Amari Ames – “Fear”

A mellow yet impactful success, “Fear” is a track from Amari Ames, who describes the effort as an exploration of “the clarity we can feel when we are able to move past fear and see more clearly.”

Lush acoustical pulses and keys complement a vocal presence whose nocturnal sentiments echo the contemplative feeling — “keep running from daylight, can’t stay in the sunshine, come alive in the nighttime.” A title-touting vocal emergence draws into a moody synth-laden integration approaching the two-minute turn, combining with the weary vocals for a sturdy atmospheric appeal.

“Fear” comes via the Darknessb4dawn EP:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2023’ Spotify playlist.
