Willard Finch – “Precious Time”

The gorgeous “Precious Time” comes via Willard Finch‘s album of the same name, showing the Canadian songwriter/producer as consistently capable of emotive, sonically diverse songwriting with atmospheric longing.

Described as “a song about a situationship,” “Precious Time” grows from folk-forward yearning into synth-laden expansion. The initial sequence compels in the desiring vocals, with soft acoustics and bird-chirping pairing with soulful backing vocal reflections.

“I’ll keep wasting all your precious time,” twinkles into percussive involvement, growing steadily into a dynamic second half. Pulsing keys and playful vocal layers enamor here, reminding fondly of Dent May. Synth-forward effervescence envelops thereafter, into a savvy synth-pop production within the conclusion.
