Ivan Caves – “Strangers” (feat. Terako)

/

The second release from Los Angeles-based artist Ivan Caves, “Strangers” stirs with ethereal vocal yearning and a calming acoustic-led soundscape. “If I could see you for a second, I would, if I could feel you for a minute, I would,” the vocals let out during the haunting chorus, punctuated by twinkling guitar jangles into another caressing series of verses. Also featuring Terako, the track’s intertwining vocals and heartfelt lyrics combine for a dreamy folk escapism that lingers beautifully.

Ivan elaborates on the track:

“It’s a song I wrote and produced myself in my college dorm. It’s about feeling kinda like an outcast in a place that seems somewhat familiar, but still foreign to you. That’s how I felt my first year of college (last year). I’ve been going to school my whole life but this transition made me feel so alone because I didn’t know anyone. That’s why I called it Strangers.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
