Hollywood Principle – “Que Rico” (feat. Mariela Contreras)

/

Latin-inspired rhythms and a savvy house-friendly production enamor on “Que Rico,” a stylish pop success from the duo Hollywood Principle, featuring the vocals of Mariela Contreras. A steamy and alluring tribute to the invigoration of dance floor bliss, the track captivates with its suave verses and satiating hook. Latin-inspired rhythms intertwine with mysterious synth tones and Contreras’ dynamic vocals, alternating between the climactic verses and title-touting hook, bolstered by tender guitar twangs past the second minute.

“Que Rico came out of a writing camp we did in Big Bear back in December 2020,” Hollywood Principle says. “It was a big deal for us because we hadn’t worked in person since Covid began, and some of our favorite producers came through to work with us for a weekend. Everyone came with crazy energy and was super motivated to write something cool and different. Our friend Mariela was kind enough to lend her amazing vocal talents to the track, really elevating it and giving it lush vocals.”

Hollywood Principle comprises Elliott Sencan and Mike Ault, whose atmospheric pop productions have led to features in video games like Fortnite and Rocket League. Look out for a handful of new singles in the coming months.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.
