RAIANE. + BACHTROY – “Falling Too”

/

Showcasing a lush electro-pop savvy that swells into a late-night danceable satiation, “Falling Too” is a collaborative single from recent industry riser RAIANE. and longtime (14+ years) Brooklyn-based producer/DJ BACHTROY. “The song describes the feeling of being on top of the world, with your person and also because of them,” explains RAIANE., who discovered her love for performance via the theater, whilst growing up in Rio de Janeiro.

Mellow keys and percussive pitter-patter drive into a soulful vocal engrossment, conjuring a climactic late-night synth-pop dazzling reminiscent of Caribou x Jessy Lanza collaborations. Trickling synths emerge prior to the “when I look in your eyes,” lyrical confession, fading out again momentarily prior to the mid-point’s rhythmic expansion. The woozy, electro-soul composure ascends to a more dance-friendly charisma in the second half, as effervescent synth pulsations complement vibrant multi-layered vocals. “Falling Too” is a moody pop success from RAIANE. and BACHTROY.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.
