Venusia – “Think Peace”

/

A “pro-peace anthem” with a timeless-sounding pop shimmering, “Think Peace” is a new track from Switzerland-based duo Venusia. Its message is particularly poignant in times ripe with conflict, particularly as the vocals plead to “think peace,” into the chirpy guitar twangs approaching the second minute. There’s an evident Beatles influence in the harmonious vocals and hooky guitar glistening, with an added edge from Venusia in the dual-vocal delivery and psych-minded closing refrain.

“It begins inside your mind and seeps into your life,” the opening vocals let out; the wisdom is palpable, emphasizing the power of positive thought, and its contagious qualities. Andrew Bayuk and Anisah Alyahya converge their dreamy vocals during the title-touting refrain, which compels further upon the multi-layered vocal effect past the one-minute turn, and then into the satiating bridge thereafter. “Think Peace” is full of melodic charm and positive vibes, enticing replays with its bright glow and warmness.

“We know that you don’t get peace by hating war, but by loving peace,” they state. “Peace starts from within, and then radiates out through our thoughts, actions and deeds.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.
