Dawson Forsey – “Natural Disaster”

//

Expanding from a slow-burning guitar twangs into a rousing rock energy, “Natural Disaster” is a stirring single from Dawson Forsey, a singer/songwriter from Newfoundland, and now based in Vancouver, Canada. The structural build proves wholly satiating, escalating from a country-set guitar/organ pairing into a peppy Americana-set vibrancy.

Debonair guitar twangs and a hazy organ backing combine with laid-back vocals for a satiating, appealing aesthetic. “Without you…” signals the entry of a bouncier second half, fulfilling with a more illuminated guitar/organ interplay. A brief push of twangy guitars past the four-minute turn falls into a warm organ embrace. “Natural Disaster” is a warming, melodic success from Dawson Forsey.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2023’ Spotify playlist.
