Moon Worm – “Peace of Mind”

//

Spacey synths and escalating vocals craft a climactic, impassioned grip throughout “Peace of Mind,” a stellar showing from Moon Worm, the project of North Dakota-based artist Jack Schaefer.

“Peace of Mind” captivates in its range of subdued glistening and ramped-up emotion. “I don’t know if this love goes both ways,” Schaefer’s vocals wonder as the soaring synths fade in favor of understated twinkling. This contemplative sequence makes the ensuing chorus shine even further with its ascending vocals — “one day at a time,” — and spirited synth injections. Serene guitar twangs lead an enjoyable bridge, traversing to a finale bursting with replay-inducing, spacey pop outpouring. “Peace of Mind” is a standout success from Moon Worm.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream Pop.
