Röckët Stähr – “Galactic Pioneers (We’ll Touch the Stars)”

/

Self-described as his “first foray into 80s-style synthwave (with a Bowie flare),” “Galactic Pioneers (We’ll Touch the Stars)” is a spacey synth-pop success from Röckët Stähr. The space-traversing lyrics — “we push to new frontiers, galactic pioneers,” — mesh aptly with glistening synths and a “there’s no looking back,” ethos, as the digital spacefarers cross into the unknown.

Bouncy synth additions rouse during the “we cross the astral plane,” sequence, bolstering the mix with a peppier rhythmic push. The distant-feeling “no more lies,” reflective vocals add a hooky confidence throughout, as does the “stars are calling,” effervescence. “Galactic Pioneers (We’ll Touch the Stars)” is a stylish, glitzy synth-pop triumph from Röckët Stähr.

The singer/songwriter is also the creator of “the world’s first animated rock opera feature film”: Röckët Stahr’s Death of a Rockstar. Check out various platforms to stream it via the artist’s website.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.
