Twin Seas – “Cruisin”

Irresistibly hooky with its glistening synths and funky bass electricity, “Cruisin” is the latest single from Twin Seas. The Los Angeles-based act’s upcoming album, To Go, is releasing this October. Written by Twin Seas keyboardist Cruz whilst touring with Inner Wave in 2022, “Cruisin” also features Inner Wave drummer Luis Portillo.

The Latinx pop act struts their replay-inducing songwriting with head-nodding captivation with “Cruisin.” “Can you feel it?” the vocals ask during the bridge, escalating into the “I just wanna drive all night,” sentiment amidst the grooving bass line and effervescent synth lines. Smooth, lounge-set keys play subsequently with similar appeal alongside the throbbing bass, into a final hooky reprisal to close off this success. “Cruisin” is an addictive earworm from Twin Seas.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
