Peter Beatty – “Tell Me Where To Go”

//

A track released today from London-based artist Peter Beatty, “Tell Me Where To Go” enamors with a caressing folk sound and warming vocal delivery. The release comes alongside a stop-motion video, above, which is one of the more beautiful music videos I’ve seen. Fittingly, the track earned the Best Song award at the Cannes World Film Awards this past July. “Tell Me Where to Go” is part of Beatty’s upcoming debut album, Different Flowers, out in January 2024.

Per Beatty, the track “was inspired by a boat trip, and is a tribute to adventure, self discovery and chasing love.” The video alone is gorgeous, and the track itself plays with similar power in its moving folk production. “As we swallow our dreams tonight,” the vocals stir amidst the trickling acoustics and ghostly backing vocal effects. “Hold on tight, just tell me where to go,” they conclude, leading into lulling sounds of nighttime wilderness. “Tell Me Where To Go” is an audio and visual success from Peter Beatty.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
