War & Peace Party – “Miss Hibiscus”

/

“Miss Hibiscus” hypnotizes with its hazy organ backing and debonair guitar stylings, immersing with a subdued psych-rock allure. The track comes via War & Peace Party, the recording project of Columbus, OH-based guitarist/songwriter Nick Kurth (The High Definitions, Dawna, Angela Perley).

Tender guitar twangs linger alongside the organ-laden bolstering past the two-minute mark, driving into more expressive guitar lines a minute thereafter. “Miss Hibiscus, I can’t let this go,” the vocals enamor, as the bluesy guitar injections surround with captivating allure. “Miss Hibiscus” is a suavely memorable success from War & Peace Party.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
