Dance the Misery – “Too Shy”

/

Nashville-based act Dance the Misery show a suave rock styling on new track “Too Shy,” navigating dreamy guitar trickles and shoegaze-y doses of distortion. A hazy, steady vocal composure becomes accompanied by steadily evolving guitar-based textures, blasting off around the one-minute turn into the buzzing guitar escalation.

“Got nowhere to go right now,” the vocals shrug, enamoring in their subdued quality — and maintaining that warming tone throughout both the lusher and distortion-friendly sequences. “Too Shy” enamors with its stylish rock appeal, proving particularly gorgeous past the three-minute mark with the effervescent backing alongside jangling guitars.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
