Super Passive – “Wasteland”

/

Orlando-based act Super Passive unveil a late-night post-punk enthrallment on recent track “Wasteland,” coming via their forthcoming EP, Lost Souls Welcome, out on Friday.

Sharp-cutting guitars and a panting rhythmic underlying complement an ardent vocal lead, complementing the driving post-punk pulse with a compelling ferocity. “Somebody help me,” pleading vocals inject a yearning energy amidst the steady rhythmic pulsations and moody guitars, concocting an atmospheric post-punk immersion in its entirety.

The band further describes the release as “a driving and hopeful song written from a place of difficulty. A story about life struggle and admitting when you need help.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Post-Punk.
