A bluesy rock success with expanding charisma, “Scorpio Moon” is a new single from Nashville-based artist Monica Guardado. “‘Scorpio Moon’ is about reclaiming my power and agency against someone who wronged me – through moody, hooky guitars, and funky drums,” she says. “It’s also the first bilingual song I’ve ever written (english – spanish in the bridge) and it feels really good to represent my latin heritage through this track.”
“Scorpio Moon” builds captivatingly from the smoky verses to the hooky, organ-laden “can you feel it coming through?” charisma. The Spanish-language bridge proves especially compelling, injecting a sweltering psych-rock ferocity into the organ-led refrain. Guardado continues to make waves in the Nashville scene, and the moody, compelling “Scorpio Moon” is exemplary of why.
