Corsicana – “Palindrome”

/

An emotively hazy, dreamy rock appeal lingers on “Palindrome,” the new single from Corsicana. The Denver-based project of artist Ben Pisano impresses here, particularly during a soaring, beautiful rise marked by ascending vocal tone and the “call it by name,” lyrical sequence. Lush guitar twangs and steady percussion complements Pisano’s vocal presence throughout, balancing subdued introspection and emotional escalation. A warm, textured balance of dreamy rock and singer/songwriter intimacy enamors on “Palindrome.”

“While owing to a particularly rough break-up, the lyrics are more specifically an attempt to personify & give identity to a feeling that couldn’t quite be put into words throughout the relationship,” Pisano explains. “In a sense, they were my best attempts at making the ineffable effable.”

The standout track comes via Corsicana’s recently released third album, Kept:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2023’ Spotify playlist.
