nighTime – “Animals”

/

Step into an intoxicating, nocturnal soundscape with “Animals,” a recent single from nighTime. Originally recorded in Los Angeles, with production completing in Chicago, “Animals” achieves its hypnotic undertaking. Per nighTime songwriter Johnny, the track “was crafted with the intention of drawing the listener into a dreamstate, a subconscious state of mind set in a cloudy and hallucinatory framework.” Caressing synth-laden soundscapes and soaring guitar enthusiasm intertwine for a stimulating aesthetical appeal.

A rainstorm-like ambience takes hold initially, with cracking thunder and hints of rain excelling into serene synth wistfulness. Driving percussion and twangy guitars converge upon their mutual emergences, adding a level of excitement into the moody guitar crawl approaching the one-minute turn. Triumphant, elongated guitar tones envelop at mid-point, traversing to a satiating finale where the serene synth work and exuberant guitars combine with a delectable atmospheric lingering. “Animals” is a thorough, introspective success from nighTime.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
