The Sweet Heavy – “Daylight”

An alt-rock and prog-friendly appeal intertwine on “Daylight,” the latest from The Sweet Heavy, a band based in Western Colorado. “Daylight comes, the night shines on,” the vocals let out during a darkly invigorating hook, following chirpier guitar-forward ardency. A tender guitar solo immerses past the three-minute turn, for a satiating flash of tonal variety. A dynamic rock sound takes hold on this success, with the “daylight comes,” re-emergence a minute thereafter melding with prog-rock guitar vibrancy for an illuminating, replay-inducing impact.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
