LOUISE – “the OC”

/

A chilled-out debut pop success from LOUISE, “the OC” explores the impact of a relationship’s break-up — and how certain shared interests, like a TV show, can be a cruel reminder thereafter. The Nashville-based project is led by Haley Grant, formerly of The Harmaleighs. The OC was a TV show that Grant and her girlfriend loved, and were deep into — though then the break-up came.

“We never finished the OC, I had to google the ending,” the enamoring chorus exudes, alongside serene acoustics and whirring synth effects. A woozy appeal lingers in the “so abruptly,” conclusion, evolving into a buzzing textural pull. This is a stellar debut from LOUISE. coming via the upcoming album TV DATING SHOW. LOUISE explains: “I filmed a farce reality show to go along with it. Each episode’s plot is what is lyrically happening in the single it’s promoting. Then I scored each episode with only the single.”
