Anna Elyse – “Old Western Film”

/

California-based artist Anna Elyse enamors with an introspective folk and pop pursuit on new single “Old Western Film.” Its themes resonate with relatable charms, lingering on how beautiful moments in one’s life can arrive alongside desires to focus finally on the present, instead of continuing to linger in the past. Elyse also notes that the track was partially inspired by the film Legends of the Fall.

The track stirs in its artful lyrical comparisons and tonally developing satiation. “Romanticize the grey skies, there’s no such thing as boundaries, living in a cowboy country,” Elyse lets out, ascending into a perky pop-forward charisma in the “chained to my past,” vocal acknowledgement. “I can’t let it die though,” Elyse soars thereafter, asking “can I be anybody else?” with spirited infectiousness. A melodic pop effervescence fuses with a twangy singer/songwriting appeal on Anna Elyse’s captivating “Old Western Film.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
