Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps – “California Smile”

/

A single from Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps and The Star Prairie Project, “California Smile” represents the first of two collaborative singles from the artists. “It’s a song about a guy from California, obviously, but it’s also a song about meeting that special person you settle down with,” Tikka explains, emphasizing the power of that unmatched moment. Tikka teams up with Nolen Chew Jr. of The Star Prairie Project for a memorable result, one that captures the power of love alongside a sturdy Americana styling.

Twangy guitars and warming backing acoustics complement vocals that capture the many roads of life, lamenting “none of them leads me to you.” A California-set, harmonious pop aesthetical allure emerges as various vocal layers embed during the radiant central hook. “Hold me for awhile,” the vocals exude here. “Let me kiss you.” The smitten lyrical sentiments combine with the lovely vocal harmonies for a replay-inducing impact, complemented by a melodic range of guitars throughout. “California Smile” is a strongly memorable output from Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps and The Star Prairie Project; we’re definitely excited for their next collaborative single.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
