Alexander Greenfield – “Poltergeist”

//

Belgian artist Alexander Greenfield unveils a climactic prog-rock appeal with horror-film intrigue on new single “Poltergeist,” immersing with haunting piano and simmering string-forward momentum amidst haunting vocal whispers. Chilly strings and ghostly vocals, which assume an eerie reversal state momentarily, propel the riveting culmination from the morose verses, showing shades of Roxy Music.

Greenfield notes that the track is “was intended as part of a concept album about a newly married couple who decide to have their honeymoon in Transylvania.” That album never surfaced, though at least this fantastic single remains.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
