New York-based artist Alexei Shishkin dazzles with an immersive sound on new single “Bermuda,” melding nylon guitar, lap steel, and piano flourishes amidst vocals that depict a certain idyllic place, that feels just out of reach. Twangy guitars and pulsing acoustic undercurrents combine with an engaging vocal lead with shades of Stephen Malkmus. A decisive piece of quality songwriting, “Bermuda” has us firmly anticipating Shishkin’s upcoming album, Open Door Policy, out on June 28th.
