Bit3R – “Desperate Measures”

//

A display in melodically debonair entrancement, “Desperate Measures” is the latest single from Bit3R, the Detroit-based project of songwriter and producer Cameron Navetta. Described as “about shooting your shot, taking advantage of what fate has brought you,” “Desperate Measures” traverses across yacht-rock nostalgia and crisp sophisti-pop appeal — moving seamlessly into the “desperate times, desperate measures,” prompting to “make your move,” amidst funky bass movements and mellow guitar/piano interplay.

A lovely melodica solo follows that first hooky escalation, as the vocals resume waiting for their “darkest hour.” “It’s now or it’s never,” the vocals call out as wordless harmonizing compels with twangy guitar adornments, showing shades of Daryl Hall. The smooth guitar licks and melodica lead into a satiating finale, that easily tugs at one’s ear for ample replays. “Desperate Measures” is a delight from Bit3R.

This and other tracks can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Dream-Pop’ Spotify playlist.
