Missiles to Malta – “Haywire Hymnal”

/

“Haywire Hymnal” is a memorable rock single from Missiles to Malta, a band based in Bethel, CT. “Hey, don’t look now,” the suave vocals emit alongside steady guitar pulses, resembling a cross between The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand. “Heaven is an arcade, with a bar,” the vocals continue. “How many tokens is it to play?” A compelling mid-point enamors with pit-pattering percussion and wordless vocals, culminating in a blast of breezy guitar-driven momentum past the two-minute turn. A Pixies-esque vocal ferocity closes it out. “Haywire Hymnal” is an infectious rock success from Missiles to Malta.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
