SheBeat – “Home”

/

A hazy psych-folk mystique and twangy rock dreaminess infuse on “Home,” a consuming new single from SheBeat, an artist originally from Liverpool, UK. The track features a captivating, ghostly backing vocal performance from Edinburgh-based singer/songwriter Sarah Gallagher. Themes of belonging combine with grippingly melodic haunts for an enveloping track from SheBeat and Gallagher.

Debonair vocal layering lends a nostalgic psych-folk mystique, with the layers culminating with spine-tingling appeal within the title-referencing refrain. Solemn acoustics and steady percussive pit-pattering accompany the solemn, sporadic electric guitars — invoking a sort of bluesy, darker rock introspection in the verses prior to the ascending vocal chills in the “home,” segment. The “wanna be home with you,” yearning is especially gripping; the backing vocal flourishes and twangy guitar reflections make for a riveting composure. “Home” is a thorough, confident success from SheBeat.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
