The Margaret Hooligans – “The StoneHengers”

/

The Margaret Hooligans impress on their seventh single “The StoneHengers,” strutting a fervent garage-rock charisma with hypnotic infusions of reflective backing vocal adornments. The single also includes a music video, and precedes a full album due in November 2024. Based on the band’s numerous successes thus far in the singles department, we’re surely anticipating that album.

“The StoneHengers” is ripe with enjoyable momentum. “I need you to hear it,” the steady vocals implore, inviting to “sing along with me,” amidst pit-pattering percussion and sporadic guitar chills. The responsive vocal segments enthrall especially during the “I want you,” dreamy outpouring, as clanking rhythms and rollicking guitars continue to accelerate. “We can find a way,” a soaring, satisfactory drive begins into a satiating close, with a glimpse of bluesy guitar. “The StoneHengers” is a gripping success from The Margaret Hooligans.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
